Meet the Cats of our Cheraw Cat Colony! My mom moved to Cheraw, SC a few years ago and discovered a small colony of stray and feral cats living behind her apartment. Having the big heart that my mom has, she could not bear to see these babies go hungry and started feeding them. She managed to gain their trust and most of them are very friendly!
We have tried so hard to find the tame ones forever homes, but with no luck. I adopted one, and she is one of the sweetest, most loyal cats I’ve ever had. My little Sugar is my best friend. I wish I could adopt even more, but my current life circumstances will not allow me to. My dream is to one day buy my own land (and get out of the horrific HOA neighborhoods) and open up a safe cat sanctuary for these sweet babies and get them off the streets, fully vetted and fixed. I am working super hard to make that dream come to full fruition.
The town of Cheraw does not have a TNR program or any vets/rescues that care enough about these little guys to help with vet costs or adoptions. Cheraw has one animal shelter and we’ve heard from other locals that the shelter has gotten into trouble in the past for poor care and treatment of animals. We don’t want them to go there! Mom’s social security does not allow her to afford much, but she does everything she can to make sure they don’t starve to death and I donate food monthly to help care for them. We have both grown super attached to this colony!
The purpose of this page is to give them a voice. If they receive enough attention, perhaps the City of Cheraw will feel the pressure to start a TNR program rather than turn a blind eye to this colony and the many other colonies that roam the streets in their town. Maybe someone out there will fall in love with one and want to give them the forever home that they deserve. Maybe I can earn enough in donations to have every one of these babies spayed/neutered, one by one. Or maybe I can earn just enough donations from this page to help my mother continue to feed them, as she has very limited resources.
Donations
Note that I am not affiliated with any organization. I’m just trying to help out a friendly little colony of cats. While it is possible to send cash donations by clicking on my Ko-fi link above, I highly recommend clicking the Amazon Wishlist or Throne Wishlist so you can personally pick out food or supplies for our ferals.
If you want to donate through the Ko-Fi link, the cash donations will be used to feed and fully vet the cats of the Cheraw Cat Colony! Please state in the message box exactly how you want your donation to be used if you have a preference (cat food, bedding, vet care, etc). Receipts and/or videos of cats will be posted so each individual donator can be thanked and know exactly what their donation went to. If you ever receive a personal email or message from me asking for money, please ignore it, as it will be a scam!

If you live in the Carolinas and would like to adopt one of these sweet babies, please Email my mom@
