Mortality

We cannot slow it down, the swift river flow, that passes through this town, like time.   Its focus remains forward, no matter the weight of distractions we constantly toss into it.   Sad that my years too flow through me, indifferently.  

Entice

So good on the surface does the warmth feel as it beckons to the bloom. The perfect ruse. Entice the flower’s soul just enough to open it up, then choke it with an icy breath until it shrivels. Magnificent. *from my poetry book, Restless Reflections.
